i am back

POR FIN estoy blogueando otra vez, os pido mil perdones, pero han sido dos meses de locura, en los que he estado dando vueltas por el mundo, de trabajo, de vacaciones, de exámenes, de más trabajo...Desde Hamburgo a Londres, después Atenas, Mykonos y Santorini, semana en Madrid, vuelta al frío San Petersburgo, y cambio de continente para ir a mi querida China, esta vez a Dalian y Guangzhou.. 

AT LAST I am back to blogging, I'm so sorry, but it has been two crazy months, when I have been travelling around and around, business trips, holidays, exams, more work..From Hamburg to London, later Athens, Myknos, Santorini, back to Madrid, heading North to St Petersburg and jump to Asia, to my dear China, Dalian and Guangzhou...

Son días de cambio de maleta, de contraste de estilos y registros, y sobre todo de mucha mucha inspiración, en las calles, en el aeropuerto, y claro está, en las tiendas. Hoy quiero hacer un pequeño homenaje a cada sitio, os digo lo que me he traído de cada uno!

It has been days of suitcase changes, style contrasts and specially days of lots of inspiration, in the streets, in the airports, and of course, in the shopping malls. Today, I want to pay a tribute to each place: this is what I've brought from each of them!

1. Hamburgo: la sobriedad de los colores, los abrigos navy + converse, una mezcla que sólo las centro europeas saben llevar y defender a la perfección.
1. Hamburg: the sober colors, the navy coats + converse, a mix that only the Central European know well how to rock!

2. Londres: mezclas imposibles, estampados, toque retro y mucha mucha moda. (En realidad estuve en la London Fashion Week, que llevará su post dedicado!)
2. London: impossible mixes, prints and retro touch and lots of fashion taste. (I was indeed in the London Fashion Week, which will have a dedicated post!)

3. Grecia: Atenas, Santorini, Mykonos: sólo se me ocurre una cosa: blanco. El total white para invierno también, a mí me favorece más que el negro, por cierto!
3. Greece: Athens, Santorini, Mykonos: I can only think in one thing: WHITE. The total white for winter too, I think it flatters me more than black..!

4. Madrid: Militar Chic, no es una tendencia nueva, ya no sé si llamarlo tendencia siquiera, porque el verde kaki, las parkas y las chaquetas militares son parte del fondo de armario.
4. Madrid: Militar Chic, it's not any new trend, I even think it isn't a trend anymore, because the kaki, parkas and military jackets are part of the basic wardrobe we all should have.

5. San Petersburgo: chaleco de piel, otro básico, especialmente apropiado para estos días de frío por las mañanas, mi inspiración: chaleco negro + blazer en clave working.

5. Saint Petersburg: the fur vest, another basic, specially suitable for these first cold days. My inspiration: black fur velvet + blazer, working style.

6. China: Dalian, Guangzhou: Flatforms, sí converse con doble suela, están por todas partes, y las llevan todas las chicas. Aunque seáis reticentes ahora, llegarán como llega todo lo que se pone de moda allí!

6. China: Dalian, Guangzhou: Flatforms, yes, converse with double sole, they are everywhere, every stylish Chinese girl wear them. And think, though you feel now like not liking them, you will wear them soon. Trends  do come from the Far East!

amsterdam in vintage

La semana pasada estuvo unos días en Amsterdam, una ciudad que me encanta y que siempre es un placer volver, aunque sea, como esta vez, por trabajo. Sacar un par de horas para colarse por sus tienditas de las "9 calles" es un placer para la vista, (no tanto para el bolsillo), pero siempre es una fuente inagotable de inspiración.

Last week I spent some days in Amsterdam, a city I love and I always like to come, though as it was this time, it's for working reasons. I managed to take a couple of hours shopping and watching in its beautiful "9 streets" lovely shops. It's an endless inspiration source.

Me gusta mucho fijarme en el estilo particular de las ciudades y países, y después importar lo que más me ha gustado, aunque no siempre es fácil de imitar y sobre todo de encontrar el momento y el ambiente adecuado para llevarlo. Estos son los detalles que me traje:

I like much to pay attention to the own style of the cities and countries, and then import what I liked most, though it's not always easy to imitate and to find the right moment to wear it. These are the list of details I broght:

1. Viste vintage: me encanta verlo en otras y me atrevo poco. Los shorts denim vintage causan furor en Amsterdam, el estilo pin up sigue pisando fuerte entre las holandesas, las tiendas de segunda mano tenían más cola que Zara!

1. Dress vintage: I like to see it.. on others. The vintage denim shorts are a bestseller, the pin up style is still strong among the young Dutch girls. 2nd hand shops were more crowded than Zara!

2. Viste sencillo: para qué complicarse? colores lisos, tonos neutros, materiales nobles..todo con ese toque chic de las ciudades europeas.

2. Dress simple: why make it difficult? plain colors, neutral tones, nice materials and fabrics.. but with  a typical chic touch of the European cities.

3. Viste cómoda: si vas a ir en bici como el 99% de las holandesas no puedes ir en stillettos! La ropa cómoda que parece que no te has complicado la vida, pero merece la pena imitar para un finde relajado es el MUST en Amsterdam.

3. Dress comfy: if you are riding a bike like the 99% of the Dutch you can't obviously go on stilettos! Their effortless style is worthy to imitate for a relaxing weekend.

4. Ponte gafas: Gafas retro, claro. Sean de ver o de sol, olvídate de las última tendencias, y rescatas las más vintage y retro de la tienda. A ellas les sientan genial!

4. Wear glasses: But, retro glasses of course. Sunnies or prescription glasses, forget to wear the latest trend and go for vintage and retro style. They're flattered!

5. Viste eco: es muy fuerte la cultura eco y bio en Centroeuropa. Las prendas de lana virgen, algodón orgánico y decoración ecológica son sus señas de identidad, y me da envidia!

5. Dress eco: the eco- and bio- culture is quite strong in Middle-and North Europe. Garments made of pure virgin wool, organic cotton and shops with eco-decoration are their trademarks, and it's something to envy!

Milan streets & style

Este fin de semana tuvimos una escapada de esas de chicas, de esas de risas, anécdotas, shopping, mucho shopping y maletas a reventar. De esos días que de vez en cuando apetecen, en las que la decisión más importante es qué ponerse esa noche!! 

Last weekend was one of those "girls weekend out", we had fun, full of anecdotes and remembers, a lot of shopping and bursting suitcases. They have been those days when the most difficult task is decide what to wear in the evenings!!

Tenía muchas ganas de ir a Milán, la capital mundial de la moda, conocida por su street style más selecto, elegante y chic. Quería pasear por las famosas galerías Vittorio Emanuele y por supuesto, recrearme y soñar en le Quadrilatero de la Moda!


I really wanted to visit Milan, the world fashion capital, known by its selected street style, elegant and chic. I wanted to walk through the famous Vittorio Emanuele Gallery, and obviously, enjoy watching and dreaming in the Quadrilatero de la Moda!

Así que con mi pinta de turista, con bolsas en las manos y aguantando el calor de Milán conseguí traeros alguna que otra imagen de las mejores calles de la capital italiana de la moda!


So, there I was with my tourist style, two bags in each hand and under the burning sun of Milan taking pictures to some of the stylish people that can be seen in one of the best streets in the fashion capital!

- muchas parejas estilosas, con looks veraniegos sencillos pero impecables, la actitud al llevarlos hacían el resto.

- many stylish couples, with easy but impeccable outfits, their attitude did the rest.

- muchas madres e hijas de compras, qué buena dosis de estilo derrochaban, será que se hereda!
- many mothers & daughters going shopping, what a style they had, is that genetic? I think so.

- las parejas más glamurosas, con aparcacoches a la puerta de Armani o papparazzi incluido!
- some high glamorous couples, with driver at the doors of Armani or their papparazzi friend!

- no podía faltar el estilo sobre ruedas, motos y bicis son parte del decorado fashion de la ciudad.
- it couldn't miss the style on wheels, motos and bikes are a part of the fashion scenery of the city.

- y por supuesto, mucho chico guapo, bien vestido y con ese tocco de clase italiana que tanto nos gusta!!
- and of course, many good-looking men, very well dressed and with that tocco de clase italiana that I so much like!

Creo que todas las fashionistas debería peregrinar, al menos una vez en la vida, a Milan, la Meca de la Moda!


I believe every fashionist should go on pilgrimage, at least once in life, to Milan, the Fashion Mecca!

venice: shorts & more

Por fin llegó la primera escapadita del verano, ya me hacía falta después del ajetreo de los últimos meses...no podía ser otro sitio que la ciudad más bonita y más espectacular de todas las que he estado últimamente..por eso repito! VENECIA. La eterna ciudad de los canales, de los gondoleros y sus camisetas a rayas, de las plazas y terrazas, de sus flores en los balcones..y de su estilo propio!

At last, here it is my first summer trip, I really needed after months of hastle and bustle..and it couldn't be any other place than the beautiful and charming city I've lately visited...that's why I repeat! VENICE. The eternal city of channels, of gondoliers and their stripe tees, of crowded squares and terraces, of full of flowers balconies..and its onw style!

Y la pregunta del millón... qué meter en la maleta para un finde en la bella Italia? Como se trata de ir ligera de equipaje, mi opción está clara: shorts & more.


And here it comes the Million question...what to put in the suitcase for a weekend in the Bella Italia? As it gets of light luggage, my option is clear: shorts & more.

Look#1
- Shorts + Camisa: para el viaje, un look muy de aeropuerto, cómodo, fácil  y con un toque preppy.
- Shorts + Shirt: for the plane, a typical airport outfit, comfy, easy and a touch of preppy.

Look#2
- Denim Shorts + casual Top: para el día, para recorrer las callejuelas, estar cómoda y fresca, el toque chic lo dejo para los accesorios.
- Denim Shorts + casual Top: for the day walking through the narrow streets, loose and cool, the chic touch the accessories.

Look#3
- Shorts + blusa seda: la opción para la noche, si elegimos un short un poco más sofisticado con unos tacones, estaré lista para los Spritzs venecianos!
- Shorts + silky blouse: the option for the night out, if we choose a short a bit more sophisticate with a pair of heels, I'll be ready for the venetian Spritzs!

Look#4
- Shorts + Rayas: look gondolero total, el outfit de vuelta será un tributo a los animados gondoleros venecianos, short blanco + camiseta 3/4 de rayas, un acierto siempre!
- Shorts + Stripes: the total gondollier style, the return ensemble will be a tribute to the venetian men, white short + 3/4 stripe tee, a classic win-win!

Galicia calidade & bloggers

Y nunca mejor dicho! Esta semana estoy unos días en Galicia por trabajo, y como yo siempre me fijo mucho en la gente de la calle, en su estilo, he de decir que el eslogan "Galicia Calidade" no es sólo por el marisco, se palpa la calidad en la calle, las tiendas, y por supuesto, en la red.

Os habéis parado a pensar la cantidad de marcas de moda que vienen de esta esquinita del país? Además del todopoderoso Inditex, aquí se crean las prendas de Adolfo Domínguez, Roberto Verino, Carolina Herrera, Purificación García, Caramelo, Bimba & Lola...y seguro que me dejo alguna más de primera línea! 

Y bloggers? cuántos bloggers de primer nivel son gallegos? A mí así a la mente me viene rápidamente unos cuantos:

1. Bartabac Mode - Silvia. Quién no le conoce? Su estilo con toques románticos y casi siempre minimalista me encanta!

2. Amlul - Gala González. La blogger más internacional de España, su estilo innato es increíble. A mí me gusta más en plan casual!

3. Lovely Pepa - Alexandra. Otra de las grandes, según estudios de las más influyentes del país, y es que prenda que se pone prenda que es objeto de deseo por el resto de mortales!

4. Coco Mode - Zaira. Su estilo es más peculiar, más vintage. Y lo difícil que es vestir vintage en un país como el nuestro y sobre todo en el norte? Olé por ella!

5. Bor: un chico teníamos que poner en el top de los bloggers gallegos no? Bor derrocha clase, estilo y tendencia!

y yo me pregunto cuál es al origen de esta cuna de creación y estilo? los aires oceánicos?... sea lo que sea, que viva Galicia!

happy DRAGON & PRINTS year

No podía dejar pasar estos días sin hacerle una especial dedicatoria al año nuevo Chino, el gran año del DRAGÓN! Recuerdo perfectamente cómo se viven estos días en China, es algo mucho más intenso que nuestra Navidad, y la decoración está en cada rincón de los pueblos y ciudades. Yo he vivido años del buey, cerdo y rata en China, pero me hubiese gustado estar en un año del Dragón (muy rojo, claro) su elemento más fuerte y poderoso! Además es el considerado como guardián del tesoro y la sabiduría, algún animal da más?

I couldn't let the time goes without dedicating a post to the Chinese New Year, the great year of the DRAGON! I perfectly remember how people live in Chine these days, it is something much more intense than our Christmas, the decoration of every single and remote town and city is awesome. I had the opportunity to spend there during the pig, rat and cow year, but I wish I could have stayed during a Dragon year...the most powerful and strongest! It is also considered the Guard of the treasure and wisdom, which animal gives more?

Y pensaréis, qué tiene que ver todo esto con un blog de moda? Yo creo que mucho, las modas no son ajenas a lo que pasa en el entorno, y yo me he querido fijar esta vez en los prints más chinos de las distintas pasarelas.

Now you're thinking what all of this is about a fashion blog...a lot, I think. Fashion trends are not far from what it is happening in the environment..that's why I want to watch to the Chinese style prints seen on catwalks for this Spring.

No me diréis que muchos no son de origen chino, el de D&G parece sacado de un jarrón de porcelana de la dinastía Ming!

You are with me, quite a number of them are Chinese style. The D&G one seems to be got from a Ming dinasty vase!

Hablando de jarrones chinos, la maestra de este tipo de estampados es Mary Katrantzou, seguramente el nombre no os diga nada (a mí hasta hace poco tampoco, la verdad...) pero es la diseñadora fetiche de fashion victims como  Anna de lo Russo y nuestra querida Alexa Chung.  Además colabora con Topshop, así que todas podemos tener algo suyo!

Talking about chinese vases, the master of this kind of prints is Mary Katrantzou, you probably didn't heard about her (I did recently, to be honest...), but she's already the favourite of fashion victim Anna de lo Russo and our beloved Alexa Chung. You can have something made by her, she's collaborating with Topshop!

Dicho todo esto, yo no soy muy fan de los prints llamativos y extravagantes, (ja!) pero sí que es verdad que combinándolo adecuadamente podemos conseguir un look diferente. Yo aconsejo reducirlo a dos o tres prendas, en este orden:


Having said this, I'm not much a fan of bright and extravagant prints (ha!) but it's true that combining it properly we can get a different and stylish outfit. I advise you to go for two or three garments, in this order:

- Fulares: lo más fácil de encontrar, de combinar y de completar un look. Yo ya tengo varios y me encanta ponérmelos sobre blusas o jerséis liso.

- Scarves: the easiest to find, to combine and to add to almost any ensemble. I do have some and love to wear them over plain shirts and jumpers.

- Faldas: me chiflan y rechiflan. Los prints divertidos y atrevidos paras las faldas, cortas más discretas. El resto siempre sobrio y básicos.

- Skirts: you know how much I love them? Funny and bright prints leave them for skirts, shorter or midi are more discreet. The rest of the outfit, go sober and full of basics.

- Kimonos (aunque es más bien japonés...): es un poco más arriesgado, y seguramente no lo pondremos mucho porque estos estampados cansan, pero si buscan uno con print chino "con gusto", seguro que no pasas inadvertida.

- Kimonos (I know, this is not chinese but japanese...): it is more risqué and not a daily garment, this kind of big prints are quickly tiring.., but you can find a top with a  nice chinese print, you'll be not invisible!

street style in Shanghai & Guangzhou

Ya estoy de vuelta y en un no parar otra vez... pero me voy a tomar un rato en mostraros alguna foto del viaje, que aunque habiendo sido de trabajo ha habido tiempo para escaparse a pasear por el Bund de Shanghai, por la barrio antiguo (hecho para turistas), a tomar algo en el paraíso de los expatriados, Xintiandi y también, cómo no, a dejarme llevar por el alboroto del shopping en Nanjing Road.

I am back, but still quite busy, from here to there..., but I wanted to take the time to show you some pictures of my trip, though a business trip I had time to walk along The Bund in the evening, take some chinese foods in the old town (made for turists), have a drink in the expats' paradise, Xintiandi, and obviously, there was time to walk down the shopping street, the crowed Nanjing Road.

Me encanta pasear por las calles del centro de Shanghai, y ver este tipo de contrastes, a medio camino entre ciudad ultramoderna occidental y barrio de la china tradicional.

I love walking down the street in the downtown in Shanghai, to admire this kind of contrasts, halfway between a western ultramodern city and the most traditional chinese neighborhood.

La zona de compras de Xintiandi es espectacular, hay escaparates dignos de 5th avenue y al lado, otros más orgánicos y alternativos. Beautiful!

The shopping street and malls of Xintiandi are simply awesome, some shopwindows are amazing, worthy of 5th Av., just next to other more organic and alternative, beautiful!

Tuve la suerte de poder pasar un fin de semana en "casa", en Guangzhou. Y allí, donde me muevo como pez en el agua, me dediqué a "estresarme" en los bulliciosos mercadillos de telas, ropa y bolsos. Una dulce locura para las fashionistas, allí mismo me atreví a retratar a alguna de las chicas estilosas (y qué estilo!) que pasaban el sábado en el superpoblado centro comercial que tanto me gusta, hay un montón de tiendas coreanas!

I had the chance to stay the weekend at "home", in Guangzhou, where I lived 2 years. There I spent the day in the busy fabric, clothes and bags markets. A sweet "crazy thing" for the fashionists, there I dared take pictures to some of the stylish girls (and what a style!) who spend their saturdays in the overcrowded korean style shopping mall, I loved it!

Los accesorios son un MUST de sus estilismos: usan gafas NERD XXL sin necesitarlas, grandes diademas..

The accessories are the MUST of their outfits: they wear XXL NERD glasses (without glasses!), big headbands..

qué os parecen estos estilismos? atrevidos, demasiado trendies? por esta parte del mundo somos menos atrevidas, verdad?
