Estamos en un año de bandera, o no? Eurocopa de fútbol, Juegos Olímpicos...Rafa Nadal y su 7º Roland Garros...es un año de esos de lucir bandera sin complejos, y a mí me gusta la verdad..pero cuando se trata de moda, solo hay sitio para dos banderas. Sabéis cuál son verdad?  Sí, USA & UK.

This is a FLAG year, isn't it? European football cup, Olympic games in London... our Rafa Nadal winning his 7th Roland Garros...this is a year to wear our flag without complex, and I'm happy with that...but when it comes to fashion, there's place only for two flags. You know which are they, don't you? Yes, USA & UK.

Es verdad que son banderas bonitas, con prints propios, colores agradables...pero es sólo por eso? Qué hemos hecho mal el resto de países para no promocionar así nuestra bandera?

It's true, they are beautiful flags, with own prints, nice colours...but is this the only reason? What have the rest of countries done wrong when promoting our flags?

Los italianos no lo hacen mal y por ejemplo, mi casco Vespa lleva bordada la bandera...Gucci usa los colores del país...

Italian don't do it wrong at all, my Vespa helmet, for example, has the Italian flag embroidered in the back, Gucci use the national colours...

Los noruegos especializados en ropa deportiva y náutica...tengo unas playeras Hakei con la banderita noruega, un jersey de rayas navy...

Norwegian are specialised in nautic and sport wear...I have a canvas shoes of Hakei with this flag, a navy striped jumper...

Los argentinos también lo han sabido hacer, marcas como La Martina, los náuticos de Kate de la marca Sebago..usan sus colores  nacionales.

Argentinians also do it well, famous brands like La Martina, Sebago boot shoes (worn by Kate)..use their national colours.

Y por supuesto los Brasileños con las Havaianas, Gisele y sus Ipanemas...

And Brazilian of course with their Havaianas, Gisele and her Ipanemas...

Do you remember the brand LOIS with its characteristic spanish flag hanging of the back label? What happened with them?

Sea lo que sea, este es el verano de los look bandera, de la nuestra y de la de otros...y el resto del año, nos conformaremos con las omnipresentes americanas y británicas. 

Anyway, this is the summer of the flag look, ours and others...and the rest of the year, we will have to come back to the omnipresent american and british ones.

ANTIAGE must have

Hace un tiempo leí un artículo sobre prendas antiage, que hay cierto tipo de ropa, colores y accesorios que te quitan años. Eso sí, sin parecer ridícula!! Y bueno, como yo en dos días cambio de decena (no me gusta nada empezar por 3...) me he vuelto a acordar de aquello que leí y hoy quiero compartirlo con vosotras, y añadir alguna aportación propia. Ya me diréis si estáis de acuerdo.

Some time ago I read an article about the antiage clothes, about a certain kind of garments, colours and accessories that take years away, obviously without looking ridiculous! Because in a couple of days I'm turning 30, (I'm not happy with the starting number 3!) I've been remembering what I read and today I want to share it with you, adding my own contribution. Tell me if you agree.

Porque los 30 de ahora son los 20 de antes, los 40 los 30...pero dónde está el límite? Yo estoy convencida que todo depende de la actitud (y el estilo natural) con el que se lleven esas prendas.

Because now 30s are the old 20s, 40s are 30s...where's the limit? I do believe it's all about attitude (and the own style) of wearing those clothes.

Antiage#1: colores fluor: no es necesario ir como un policía de tráfico, pero un toque fluor en los accesorios en verano te aportará esa dosis de alegría y juventud. Mi favorito: amarillo fluor!

Antiage#1: neon colors: it's not neccessary to dress like a traffic policeman, but a touch of neon in the accessories, specially in summer, can add a good dose of youth and joy. My favourite: the neon yellow!

Antiage#2: camisa/chaqueta vaquera: sí, el denim es eterno, pero según como lo combines puede ser muy juvenil, mi favorito: camisa vaquera con falda, con toque chic!

Antiage#2: denim shirt/jacket: yes, denim is eternal, but depending on how you put together the result can be very youth. My favourite: a denim shirt with a skirt, a chic touch!

Antiage#3: parka militar: el verde militar, una parka ligera para verano o rellenita para invierno, sobre vestidos, pitillos, encaje...resta seriedad al outfit, y años a la que lo lleva!

Antiage#3: military parka: the military green in a light summer parka or a chunky winter version, over light dresses, skinnies or lace shirts takes seriousness away, and some years from who's wearing them!

Antiage#4: converse: sí, unas deportivas de toda la vida, bien combinadas sin caer en el exceso del chandal!, pueden resultar además de cómodas, rejuvenecedoras.

Antiage#4: converse: yes, the classic sneakers, well combined without dressing excessively sporty, can be not only super comfy but rejuvenating.

Antiage#5: perfecto: la chupa de cuero, sea del color que sea, también te ayudará a conseguir un desenfadado pero estiloso look, incluso con vestidos largos te dará ese toque de street style urbano!

Antiage#5: perfect jacket: in every color (with common sense, please), can also help you to get a loose but stylish outfit, even over a full dress, it'll make you an urban street styler!

Alguna vez os habíais planteado esto?! qué otra propondríais?.... aunque claro, nosotras no lo necesitamos ;))

Chicas, os tengo que contar un nuevo descubrimiento. Ya sabéis de mi perdición por los accesorios, por los collares grandes y llamativos y las pulseras, estos dos son mis básicos en el día a día, hasta para ir a trabajar! No sé por qué soy menos de anillos... El caso es que el otro día tuve la oportunidad de conocer (por casualidad) a la creadora de una de las pulseras preferidas por las bloggers españolas, las pulseras de Mymimit. 

Dear followers, I have to tell you about my last discovery. You already know about my addiction to accessories, to statement necklaces and bracelets...these are my two daily basics, even for the office! I don't know why I'm not a big fan of rings...The thing is I had the opportunity to meet (by chance) the creator of one of the most popular bracelets among the spanish bloggers,  Mymimit  bracelets.

Sus creaciones tienen algo en común con lo que yo entiendo por estilo: sencillez, buen gusto y minimalismo. 

Her creations have all something in common to what I understand by style: simplicity, good taste and minimalism.

Los materiales son nobles, sólo piedras, de colores, en forma de flor, coral y por supuesto, la reina de la colección: las calaveras (llamémoslas skulls, que suena mejor, no creéis?) Ojo, no son feas, ni muy rockeras, ni agresivas...son dulces, cálidas...parece mentira!

Materials are fine, only stones, colorful, in the shape of flowers, coral and of course, the queen of the collection: skulls. But don't think in ugly, rocky and aggressive skulls..they're  surprisingly lovely, sweet...

Mi perdición fue este collar de coral blanco, me parece taaan favorecedor, clásico y chic! Está de camino, deseando estoy de estrenarlo!

I couldn't just resist to this white coral necklace, I find it so flattering, classy but chic! It's on the way, I just can't wait to wear it!

ah! y me comentó que también hacen regalos para bodas, (sigo con el monotema del mes, sorry). No creéis que ya está bien de figuritas inútiles, no será mejor un colgante ponible!?

ah! she also told me she prepares small wedding gifts (I know, the same subject all the time, sorry). Don't you think it's time to change to useful gifts, a wearable pendant for example!?

DETOX outfit

No os pasa a vosotras que tenéis días que sólo se os ocurre poneros básicos?  A mí me pasa por lo menos una vez por semana, y me encanta! Hoy ha tocado "el día del básico": jeans + botines + camisa blanca + cardigan de lana, simple pero chic, ese ha sido mi pensamiento esta mañana, :)

Don't you have some days when you only want to wear basics? This happens to me at least once a week, and I love it! Today has been the "basics day": jeans + ankle boots + white shirt + wool cardigan, simple but chic, that was my morning thought! :)

En un momento en el que todo se lleva, todo se mezcla, los estampados son cada vez más llamativos, los accesorios más exagerados, escoger un outfit DETOX de vez en cuando no viene mal, verdad?

Nowadays everything is on fashion, everything is mixed, prints are bolder and bolder, bold accessories...we need a DETOX outfit from time to time, don't we?

Los básicos son sin duda el mejor fondo de armario y el mejor fondo de maleta, cuando no sepas que llevar tira de básicos y mezcla con algún accesorio trendy, o tu bolso fetiche, es un acierto seguro.


Basics are by far the best wardrobe and suitcase essentials...when you don't know what to put in, you go directly to basics, add some trendy accessories, your favourite bag...and you won't fail.

Por eso hoy vamos a recrearnos en estilismos sencillos, puros y elegantes, pero recordad: MENOS ES MÁS.
That's why we're enjoying here with simple, pure and chic outfits, and remember: less is more.

NEED of SPRING

Tengo que bloguear, tengo que bloguear, tengo que bloguear... eso llevo pensando toda la semana pero estos días Murphy ha sido mi compañero y me ha sido imposible. Hoy he querido sacar un ratito para compartir con vosotras mis NECESIDADES más inmediatas:

I have to blog, I have to blog, I have to blog... this is what I have been thinking the last week, but Murphy has been my inseparable friend and I could not manage. Today I could get some time to post and share with you my most immediate NEEDS:

- Necesito que llegue la primavera

- I need Spring to arrive

- Necesito cambiar el armario (aunque cada vez cambia menos, la verdad)

- I need to change my wardrobe seasonal clothes (although now less and less changes)

- Necesito ir un día de shopping intensivo

- I need to go shopping a whole day

Como ya me he aprendido de pé a pá los lookbooks, fashion books y demás revistas de colecciones, sé que NECESITO lo siguiente:

Since I have already learnt /by heart/ every lookbook, fashion book and some other fashion magazines, I know I do NEED the following:

1. Un pitillo verde menta: el color de la primavera, me lo pondré con colores suaves, emulando al color block del año pasado, versión descafeinada...

1. A mint green skinny: the colour of the Spring, I will wear it with soft tones, emulating the last year color block, but with decaff colors...

2. Una perfecto nude: en vez de negra, más light, más ponible en primavera con los nuevos colores, flores y encajes.

2. A nude perfect jacket: instead of the classic black, I find it lighter, easy-to-wear in Spring with the new colors, flower prints and decaff colors...

3. Una blusa con cuello bobo (sí, ya he caído, lo sabía!!!), no sé si lisa o con algún print, o las dos!  Son los comodines del armario en todas las épocas del año, no esperaré a la primavera para llevarlas con chaquetas de punto gorditas.

3. A peter pan collar blouse (yes, I fell, I knew it!!), I don't know whether get it plain or printed, or both! They are my wild card all the year around, I won't wait for Spring to wear them under chunky knitted cardigans.

4. Un vestido o falda de corte desigual, es lo más este verano, este corte tan Balenciaga (me encanta!) está por todas partes, así que empezaré por un desnivel pequeñito para que no me resulte too much.

4. Tail hem dress or skirt, it's absolutely a MUST HAVE this season, a typical Balenciaga cut (I love it!), you can find one everywhere. I think I'll start with a small tail, so I don't find it too much.

5. Un pantalón pijama, sí creo que me atreveré! Elegiré un print más discreto y creo que con la eterna blusa blanca quedará genial, sobre todo en clave working!

5. A pyjama trouser, yes I think I'll dare! I will go for a discreet print, combined with the eternal white blouse will be perfectly matched, a renovated working suit!

6. Unos stilettos  de ante pastel, rosas, menta, o varios combinados, los bicolores son pura tendencia este verano. 

6. Pastel suede stilettos, in soft pink, mint or bicoloured, they will be pure trend this summer.

my little black anything

Aprovechando el tributo que Karl Lagerfeld le quiere rendir a la chaqueta negra (con libro ilustrativo y exposición temática en Tokio), que diseñó Coco Chanel en los años 50 y que la firma ha ido reinventado cada temporada hasta hacer de ella un básico deseado por todas las fashionistas del planeta, he querido recoger en este post todos mis little blacks!

After reading about the tribute Karl Lagerfeld pays to the little black jacket (with a ilustrated book and dedicated exhibition in Tokyo), which was designed by Coco Chanel in the 50's and has been reinvented every season making it a basic garment, a most wanted piece among the world fashionists, I am posting here about my personal little blacks!

El negro es el color más versátil que hay, el que nos puede sacar de muchos apuros cuando nos entra el ataque de "no tengo nada que ponerme" y nuestro aliado cuando queremos disimular "alguna imperfección" (si es que las tenemos, claro!:))

Black is the most versatile color. It can help us in those "I-don't-have-anything-to-wear" moments and be our best allied when we want to hide "any imperfection" (in case we have it, of course! :))

1. Little black dress: no creo que haga falta mucha explicación, hay que tener más de uno, de tirantes, de manga corta, de lana, de algodón, de gasa...siempre irás bien con él.

1. Little black dress: I don't need to explain anything here, do I? We Must have a sleeveless, short sleeve, wool, cotton, chiffon one...you'll be always prim & polished with one!

2. Little black cardigan: hay algo mejor que llevar en el bolso cuando no sabemos qué ponernos si donde vamos hace frío? Desde el más sencillo de Zara a alguno más sofisticado con brillos, lazos o estructurado, es el comodín perfecto.
2. Little black cardigan: is there anything better to carry in our bag when we don't know if it would be cold later? From the basic one of Zara to any more sophisticated with bows, sequins or a different cut, it's the perfect partner!

3. Little black skirt: la mini MUST HAVE. Con medias tupidas en invierno y jerseys de lana gordos, con stilletos y blusas de seda para la noche más sexy. Asegúrate de que te favorece la tuya!
3. Little black skirt: the MUST HAVE mini. With thick tights in winter and chunky wool jumpers, with stilettos and silky blouses for the sexiest night. Just make sure yours flatters you!

4. Little black flats: sí, todas necesitamos bajarnos de las alturas e ir cómodas, pero chic, con unas bailarinas negras. El elemento clave para un look parisino!

4. Little black flats: yes, we all need to be comfy some day, but still chic, with a pretty black ballerina shoes. The key element of a Parisian outfit!

5. Little black bag: un clutch negro es IMPRESCINDIBLE para los outfits de noche, también deberíamos tener esta temporada alguno tipo bandolera retro. 
5. Little black bag: a black clutch is essential for the night out outfits, but this season we should have a retro crossbody bag.

6. Little black belt: soy una adicta a los cinturones, cuanto más finos mejor (soy petite..) así que uno negro masculino y uno negro finissímo serán claves para marcar cintura, ajustar prendas oversize o decorar tu traje más working.

6. Little black belt: I'm a confessed belt addict, the skinniest the better (i'm petite...), then a masculine black one and a super skinny one are your key tools to accentuate your waist, tighten your loose tops or decorate your working suit.

Si reúnes en tu armario todo estos little blacks, tienes la base para cualquier tipo de outfit, desde el más clásico al más trendy, del casual al sofisticado. 
If you have all these in your wardrobe, you've got the base to build any kind of outfit, from the classiest to the trendiest, from casual to sophisticate. 

Mi consejo de hoy es: ir renovando cada temporada alguna de estas piezas, buscando cortes más actuales o tejidos más innovadores, pero nunca te deshagas de los antiguos, serán vintage dentro de nada!
Mi advise of today is: renovate every season some of these pieces, looking for current shapes or more actual fabrics, bue never get rid of the old ones, they'll become vintage soon!

No sé si os pasa a vosotras también , pero mis obsesiones (y shopping) fashionistas van por rachas, hay épocas que me vuelvo loca comprando camisas básicas, otras collares, otras faldas…ahora estoy en la fase de jerséis, de cuello redondo, barco, pico…pero no sé si será porque aún no hace frío de verdad o qué, pero no he comprado ninguno, ni siquiera me he fijado, en jerséis de cuello vuelto. Sin embargo,  no paro de ver en revistas, desfiles y newsletter que están más de moda que otras temporadas, y que las it del momento ya los llevan. 

Perhaps, you also have temporary fashion & shopping obsessions, as for me, there’s a time where I drive me crazy shopping white shirts, necklaces or skirts…now I’m in the mood for sweaters: rounded, squared, V-neck…but I don’t know if it’s because of the unusual warm fall or what, but I haven’t bought a single turtleneck. To my surprise, they’re everywhere in magazines, catwalks and fashion newsletter I receive, so they are trendy again, and of course, many it girls wear them. 

Este tipo de jerseys son la base de un look sobrio o alegre, en clave working o casual, y además puedes jugar con ellos como capa de ropa si hace mucho frío, alargan la figura si el cuello es muy alto y oscuro. Por eso, yo los prefiero de colores lisos, y con la anchura justa. Para que queden bonitos y marquen la silueta tiene que ser un poquito justos, pero ojo, que no marquen hasta los pliegues de la piel!!!

This kind of sweaters are the base of a sober or carefree look, for working or casual moments, furthermore you can use them for layering if it’s cold enough, they elongate the figure if the neck is very high and dark color. That’s why I have them all plain, with the right width. For a beautiful silhouette they must be a bit tight but be careful, they aren’t supposed to show off your skin folds!!!

 Si eres un poco curvy, opta por comprarlos una talla más grande, si tienen caída disimulan muchas curvas que no queremos resaltar y en colores oscuros.

If you’re a bit curvy, you’d better buy one size larger, this way they’ll be loose enough to hide those curves you don’t want to show off, choose dark plain colors.

Si eres petite, tienes dos opciones, si el jersey es largo necesariamente has de marcar la cintura con un cinturón muy finito, y si es corto y lo puedes llevar por dentro, si es con faldas, mejor.

If you’re petite, you have two options, if the sweater is long you need to accentuate your waistline, quite high, with a very skinny belt; if it’s short try to tuck it into your bottoms, better with skirts.

 Con qué me los pongo? How to combine them?

• Con faldas: largas, midi, con volumen, tipo A… y si te lo puedes permitir, un look ultrafemenino es combinarlo con una falda lápiz y unos buenos stilettos.
• With skirts, full, midi, A-type, voluminous…and if you have an excellent figure, an ultra feminine look is a combination of a pencil skirt with a nice pair of stilettos.

• Con pantalones: si el jersey es justo mejor si los pantalones no son muy pitillos, de hecho yo creo que quedan mejor con anchos, rectos y de campana. Si quieres llevar pitillos, entonces el top un poco ancho.
• With trousers: if your turtleneck is quite tight you’d better go away from skinnies, in fact I think they are perfect with wide, straight and bell-bottom pants.

• Por debajo de vestidos/jerseis..: la opción más socorrida cuando hace mucho frío y necesitamos llevar varias capas, pero a mi (no en la pasarela) el que menos me convence.  Si quieres llevarlo asegúrate de que son ultra finos y muy pegados al cuerpo. Ahora lo más son los ultraskinny blancos.
• Under dresses, jumpers...: the popular option when it's very cold and we need to put on several layers, but it's the one I like less. If you like this combination, make sure they are ultra body-con and thin, ultraskinny white ones are on trend.

• Debajo de blazer: tengo una amiga que tiene que llevar traje todos los días, y para ella son la mejor solución para el invierno. Además, la blazer te disimulará lo que no quieras resaltar con el jersey pegadito.
• Under the blazer: a friend of mine, who has to wear suits everyday, says this is the best solution for the cold winter days. Moreover, a nice tailored blazer will hide what you don't want to show off

• Con accesorios: claro que sí, si hemos dicho que mejor en tonos lisos para estilizar, mejor adornarlo con  collares de todo tipo, ahora se llevan mucho los cortos y tipo babero, unos cuantos broches juntos en un lado, pañuelos largos sueltos y si es muy largo el jersey y lo llevas por fuera, un cinturón finito a la cintura.
• With accessories: why not? if we told these sweaters better when plain, then we shall decorate with some statement pieces like necklaces, on fashion now the short and bib-like ones, some brooches together, a long light floral scarf (loose) and if the turtleneck is long, a skinny belt at waist.

Así que ya sabéis, si estábais pensando en prescindir de estos básicos este invierno ni se os ocurra. Esta temporada tendremos otra vez cuello de cisne.

So you're advised, if you were thinking to do without these basics this winter, don't do it! This season we all will have turtle neck.
