Toda fashionista que se precie debe saber diferenciar cuáles son las prendas MUST de la temporada (color block), de unas cuantas temporadas (pitillos) y lo que son clásicos eternos. Todos hemos oido hablar de la importancia de un LBD en el armario o la camisa blanca que es el mayor de los clásicos. Pues bien, en este post he querido recoger lo que son para mi clásicos de la temporada, piezas en las que merece la pena invertir unos euros de más porque los usarás todos los veranos.

Every good fashionist should know well the difference between the MUST haves of the ongoing season (color block), the garment of the coming seasons (skinnies) and what it is called the eternal classics. We have all heard about the importance of having a LBD in our closet or a white shirt as the main classic. Well, in this post I've wanted to summarize what I consider the seasonal classics, those pieces it's worthy to invest some extra euros, because we'll use them every summer.

TOPS

1. Camisetas de rayas: consigue un estilo chic francés, tanto para looks playeros como para otros más formales.
1. Striped shirts: get a french chic style, go for both casual beach and formal outfits.

2. Camisola blanca: de seda, suave, con un buen corte, es mi aliada perfecta para las noches de verano.

2. Silk white long shirt: light and delicate, with a good cut, it's my loyal allied for the summer evenings.

3. Shift dress: es imprescindible en tu armario, hazte con uno que te favorezca y úsalo en cualquier momento!

BOTTOM

4. Minifalda o shorts vaqueros: es el momento de enseñar pierna, tanto los shorts como una mini con un buen top pueden ser la prenda más versátil del armario.
4. Denim mini or shorts: it's the time to show skin, both shorts and minis can become your most versatile garment if you combine them with a nice top.

 

5. Falda larga blanca: es ligera, cómoda y muy veraniega. Te recuerdo mi post anterior para formar distintos outfits.

JACKETS

6. Blazer de lino nude y/o marino: ideal para looks working y para las tardes que hace más fresco, con vestidos, shorts o vaqueros capri sientan genial.
6. Nude or Blue line blazer: ideal for working looks and for those cool evenings, wear it over dresses, shorts or capri pants.

7. Cardigan gris: siempre va conmigo en verano, aquí en el norte nunca sabes cuando el viento te va a jugar una mala pasada, sienta genial con el moreno y los colores claros.

7. Grey cardigan: I always carry one in summer, here in the North you never know when it can be needed, it is specially flattering over light colors and tanned skin.

SHOES

8. Alpargatas o menorquinas: probablemente no son los zapatos más modernos, pero nunca faltan en mis pies en los días de vacaciones.
8. Espadrilles and Menorca traditional shoes: probably they're not the trendiest shoes, but I'll always wear them in my holiday days.

9. Peep toes o sandalias nude: piensa en el efecto pierna infinita, en la combinación con colores fuertes esta temporada... son perfectos. Invierte en un buen par!

9. Nude peep toes or sandals: think in the longer legs effect, in the hard combination with bright colors this season...they're perfect. Invest in a good pair!

ACCESSORIES

11. Brazaletes de colores: llena tus muñecas de color a cualquier hora del día. Si tienes un flechazo con alguno, date el capricho, los usarás!

11. Colorful bracelets: fill in your wrists with colors at any time. If you fall in love with any, buy it!

12. Capazo de rafia: otro IT del estilo playero, yo ya tengo el mío de Fun&Basics con asas de colores, y tú?

what Norwegians wear

Hoy os escribo desde el norte otra vez, ahora desde Oslo. Me toca toda la semana de feria aquí, y aunque siempre es un placer dejarse caer por estas latitudes, no es tan fácil hacer la maleta porque cuando en España ya estamos entrando en el verano aquí sigue haciendo frío (aunque ellos lo llamen fresco!)

Today I'm writing you from the far North again, this time from Oslo. I have to attend an exhibition the whole week, and though I am always deligthed to come to this latitudes, it is not so easy to choose the clothes to bring, because when in Spain we are almost in Summer here it is still quite cold (though they call it chilly!)

Porque no tengo mucho tiempo para extenderme y porque hace tiempo que no dedico un post a mis queridas bloggers, este va para las chicas noruegas que tienen que seguir la moda con unos meses de atraso pero que no se pierden ni una tendencia, aunque lo tengan que llevar con medias y jersey!

Because I am quite busy these days and it is long time that I don't post about my darling bloggers, this post goes to the Norwegian girls who have to follow the trends with some months of delay but they addapt them perfectly by mixing them up with socks,  tights and sweaters!

Me he querido fijar en estas 5 para hacerme una idea de lo que "se lleva" por las calles de Oslo, una ciudad preciosa, limpia y verde, apuntadlo en vuestra lista de viajes a hacer!

I want to focus on these 5 bloggers to make me a picture about what "they wear on Oslo streets", by the way a very beautiful, clean and green city, you'd better note it down in your wish travel list!

1. Style Devil: si os gusta el estilo punk tan de moda este es vuestro blog. Me encanta la idea de vestido ligero con cuello de pelo!
Style Devil:  it's a very good inspiration source if you're fan of punk style, very fashionable right now. I love the idea of mixing light dress with a piece of fur!

2. Ida Torgestuen: esta otra chica nos enseña cómo con un buen poncho de lana, botas y chaqueta de tweed podemos ir a la moda sin pasar frío en esta "fresca" primavera noruega.
Ida Torgestuen: this other girl states that with a good knit poncho, boots and tweed jacket we can go on fashion without getting cold during the "chilly" Norwegian spring days.

3. Tine Solberg: me encanta esta chica de Oslo, es estilosa y elegante. He querido elegir dos de sus outfits "night out", la falda plateada es increíble!

Tine Solberg: I just love this blogger style, this girl from Oslo is not only stylish but very smart and chic. I've chosen these two "night out" outfits, the silver sequin skirt is just stunning!

4. Millus: Esta joven noruega tiene un estilo sencillo, sin grandes estridencias, con colores neutros y naturales a base de grandes foulares y superposiciones consigue unos grandes looks casual.

Millus: this young norwegian girl has a easy style, without shrillness, she gets great casual looks with neutral and natural colors, with maxi scarves and multiple layers.

5. Ingrid Holm: de nuevo la sencillez es la base de esta otra blogger, nos gustan las superposiciones y los contrastes camel-negro en medias, shorts y sandalias. Toma nota si aún no te puedes quitar las medias, pero quieres estrenar sandalias!

Ingrid Holm: again the simplicity is what defines this blogger. We like her looks based on multiple layers and camel-black contrast in shorts, tights and sandals. Note down if you still don't want to take out the tights, but can't resist to wear your new sandals!

La clave está en mezclar prendas de primavera con maxi foulares, chaquetas biker de piel y botas...y muchas capitas, qué pena que para estar de feria no me pueda poner ninguna de ellas...
The key is to mix springly clothes with chunky  maxi scarves, biker leather jackets and boots...and many layers, it's a pity that I can't wear like this inside the Exhibition...

my chic suggestions: orange or white skirt?

Al hilo de mi post anterior sobre la tendencia N+N, una amiga a la que por cierto hace mucho que no veo y gracias al blog hemos vuelto a estar en contacto (cómo me alegro!) me ha hecho la siguiente pregunta: falda naranja o blanca? La respuesta puede ser sencilla: para gustos están los colores, y más esta temporada! Pero yo le he aconsejado la blanca, si lo que quiere es tener una falda super ponible y combinable y que se espere a las rebajas para la naranja si no está muy segura ya que es más temporal. Ella que también vive en el norte me comentaba que aquí siempre hay que llevar chaqueta por las noches  y que por eso el color block le daba un poco de miedo, porque se necesitarían 3 prendas en tonos shocking, más zapatos y bolso! Podemos caer en el riesgo de parecer un arcoíris si nos dejamos llevar por la tendencias...

Further to my post about the N+N trend, a friend of mine (by the way, I haven't seen her a long time ago and thanks to the blog we got back in touch, great!) has made me the following question: orange or white skirt?. The answer can be so easy as "every one has his fetiche color", specially this season! But I suggested her to go for the white one first, beause it's more combinable, the orange one can wait till sales. She lives in the north too, so she's worried about color block with so many garments, plus shoes and bag! It can be dangerous and we can look like the rainbow...

Por eso, porque yo también tengo mi falda blanca tipo A de Zara con bolsillos, he querido buscar un poco de inspiración para combinar de todas las formas posibles la prenda en cuestión:

Because I also have my own white new skirt (A shaped from Zara), I wanted to search some inspiration to combine it as much as possible:

1. Navy: muy de Donosti no? Pero podemos jugar con los colores, por qué no rayas fucsias o verdes?
Navy: we can play with the color palette here, why not fuchsia or green stripes?

2. Soleado: me encanta la mezcla blanco+amarillo, es tan alegre, favorecedora cuando estamos morenitas que no la puedes olvidar, con un top con toques amarillos y sandalias estarás perfecta!Sunny: I like so much the mix white+yellow, it's so cheerful, flattering when we're tanned that you can't forget it. Add simple tops with yellow prints and sandals, that's enough to be perfect!

3. Indiano: es hora de arriesgar, combínala con una camisa vaquera, sandalias con flecos y bolso hippie, si puedes consigue algún accesorio con plumas!
American Indian: it's time to risk, wear it with denim shirt, fringed sandals and hippie bag, you can add some feather accessories!

4. Lady: esa cena formal que no sabes qué ponerte, pues la falda en cuestión con un top seda en tonos nude o negro (combinación Chanel), pelo recogido, clutch y tacones, estarás impecable!
Lady: that formal dinner you never know what to wear, easy choose your white skirt with a silky top, nude or black (very Chanel combination), tied-up hair, clutch and heels, you'll be stunning!

5. Punk: por qué no? camiseta rockera, bailarinas con tachas y bolso metálico, yeah!
Punk: why not? it's a hot trend now, go for an alternative tee, studded flats and metallic bag, yeah!

6. College: camisa de cuadros o polo, chaqueta denim, zapatos Oxford y bolso bandolera, serás una nueva universitaria.
College: Polo or plaid shirt, denim jacket, Oxford shoes and messenger bag, you'll become a new american graduate!

7. Ibicenco: estoy deseando vestirme entera de blanco y pasear por sus calitas! Blusa blanca romántica, sandalias y borsalino, poco más necesitas!
Ibiza: I'm just looking forward to wear total white, walk on Ibiza beaches...You just need a white romantic shirt, sandals and fedora hat, ... and relax, nothing more!

Espero que con esto le saquéis más partido a vuestras faldas blancas! Aunque también os aconsejo que os hagáis con una en tonos fuertes, para esto podéis esperar a las rebajas ;)

I hope you'll make the most of your white skirts! Though I also advise you to get one bright hue skirt, for this, you can wait till sales ;)

packing instructions: VENICE

Todos estamos deseando hacer las maletas pero...no es un momento también un poco estresante? Yo que en esto de hacer y deshacer maletas tengo ya cierta experiencia todavía me cuesta llevar lo justo, hacer el cálculo de prendas por día...y es que siempre meto el doble "por si acaso". Por eso una amiga, que también "maletea" bastante, está dándole vueltas a qué llevar a su escapada a Venecia, su plan es pasar unos días entre amigos en la ciudad de los canales....yo también quiero!

We are all looking forward to packing for holidays but... isn't it a bit stressful moment? I am kinda expert at packing and unpacking but still it takes me some time to decide what to carry or not, work out the exact number of garments per day...but in the end, I always carry much more than needed, "just in case"...That's why a friend of mine, who is also quite used to pack, is turning over in her mind what to carry to her shortrip to Venice. Her idea is to spend a few days with friends in the channels city... I wish I went too!

　

Porque me ha parecido una muy buena idea el dedicarle este post a qué llevar en la maleta si... quiero abrir aquí una nueva sección del blog, me podéis mandar vuestras sugerencias y yo os digo qué me llevaría (eso sí, controlar el límite de peso que yo eso lo llevo fatal!)

Because I found a good idea to write about what to bring in my suitcase if I go to...I would like to open up a new section of the blog, you can send me your suggestions of trips and I will tell you what I would carry (but please, pay attention to the weight limit, I'm really bad at that! )

Lo primero que hay que pensar es: tiempo, actividades y compañía.

The first things to consider are: weather forecast, activities and company.

- Tiempo: en Venecia en plena primavera podemos ir ya sin medias, pero por la noche puede refrescar un poquito.

- Weather: in Venice is Spring so we can go out without tights, but during the night it may be cooler.

- Actividades: turismo callejero, cena y copas.

- Activities: walking turism, dinner and night out.

- Compañía: amigos a los que hace tiempo que no ves, por lo tanto hay que estar mona, pero dentro de nuestro estilo!

- Company: friends you don't see for a long time, so you'd better be smartly chic but according to our style!

Buscando un poco de street style veneciano, me quedo con esto (ojo a la mochila!)

I've found some venetian street style, I like this:

　

Para el viaje llevaría puesto, mis leggings o jeggings más cómodos, con camiseta amplia y jersey para el frío del avión...combínalo con loafers o zapatos oxford para un look más cuidado.

For the trip, I would wear my favourite leggings or jeggings, very comfy, with a wide tee and jumper for the cool time in the plane...wear them with loafers or oxford for a more polished look.

Para el día de visitas turísticas, shopping y  paseo en góndola, me pondría unos shorts o falda larga con camisa o camiseta básica y ligera si hace mucho calor. Bailarinas a tus pies.

For the turistic tour, shopping and gondola trip I would wear shorts or maxi light skirt with basic shirt if the weather is good, your feet on nice flats.

Si hace más bien fresco,  no te dejes la chaqueta de denim o tu blazer más todoterreno, le darán un toque chic a tu look por muy casual que sea.

If it is cooler, don't forget your demin jacket or your all-the-time-used blazer, it will give a chic vibe to the ensamble, even if the rest is too casual.

Para la noche de cena y copas, el look ha de ser chic pero sin exagerar nuestro estilo, te dejo estas dos opciones: mix falda + camiseta informal o pitillo negro (yo llevaría la falda). Obligatorio unos buenos tacones!

For a nice dinner and night out, your look should be a bit more sophisticate but without exagerating your own style. I would suggest you: skirt + casual tee or black skinny (I would wear the skirt!). It is mandatory to carry a good pair of heels!

Para el domingo de relax, paseo y check out: llevaría algo muy relajado, cómodo pero favorecedor, me han encantando estas dos opciones: camiseta rayas + boyfriend jeans, y  blanco + nude + foulard. Zapatos: los mismos oxford o loafers.

For a relaxing Sunday, walking and check out: I would wear something easy and comfy, but still flattering, I love these two combinations: striped tee + boyfriend jeans, white+nude and maxi scarf. Shoes: the same loafers or oxford.

N+N trend

Por fin puedo entrar en Blogger y publicar...perdón por el retraso.

At last I can go into Blogger and post... sorry for the delay.

Aunque he caído 100% en la tendencia del color block, que me parece alegre, divertida y muy favorecedora, empiezo a cansarme un poco (ojo, qué hoy llevo falda naranja!), no de llenar el armario de prendas llamativas sino de ponérmelas todas juntas muchos días seguidos!

Though I admit I have fallen in love with the color block trend and I find it shocking, funny and very flattering, I've started to be a bit tired (well, I'm wearing today an orange skirt!), not of filling my closet with bright clothes but of mixing them all every day!

Por eso creo que hay una combinación alternativa que va más conmigo, sobre todo cuando no quiero llamar demasiado la atención, o buscas un look de oficina, elegante o simplemente quieres hacer un break detanto brillo multicolor, y es la combinación N+N: nude + neón. Mezcla tus prendas it del momento, azules Klein, verde brillante, amarillo  y naranja ácido con tus favoritas de color nude, gris, camel…para mí, la combinación perfecta!

That's why I think there is an alternative combination which matches more my taste, specially those days when I don't want to be the centre of attention, look for an office chic outfit or just I need to make a break of bright multicolored outfits, that is the combination N+N: nude+neon.  Mix your of-the-moment garments, Klein blue, bright green or acid yellow and orange with your favorite nude, grey or camel ones...as for me, this is the balanced combination!

Algunas de las combinaciones estrella son / Some of the key combinations are:

 - Vestido bicolor: es muy buena alternativa al vestido monocolor del que nos podemos aburrir más o dejar de usar la próxima temporada. En Zara hay unos cuantos muy apetecibles.
- Bicoloured dress: this is a good alternative to the plain dress which can become boring and we'll probably not use next season. In Zara there are some tempting pieces.

- Falda en contraste: mi combinación favorita! falda llamativa contrarrestada con top y accesorios nude, así sí que va a ser el centro de las miradas!

- Contrast skirt: this is my favourite combination! go for a bright skirt and wear it with nude top and accessories, this way your skirt will attract all glances!

- Pantalón en contraste: si prefieres pantalón, no dirás que no hay variedad en las tiendas, yo combino los míos verdes y coral con cardigans y loafers camel.
- Contrast pants: if you prefer wearing trousers, you are lucky, there are plenty of bright coloured pants in every shop, I mix my green and coral red with camel cardigans and loafers.

- Zapatos llamativos: si eres una loca de los zapatos, esta es tu oportunidad de dirigir las miradas a tus pies. Atrévete con fucsias, verdes y amarillos, hasta para looks bodiles son perfectos!

- Eye-catching shoes: if you are a shoes lover, this is the time of daring with risky colours. Go for fuchsia, green or bright yellows, even for formal outfits (i.e. weddings) are recommendable!

- Bolso fluor: alternativa muy veraniega, (necesito el mío ya!), me encantan los clutchs neón y las bandoleras en contraste con looks sobrios!

- Fluor bags: a Must have for this summer (I still need mine!), I love the neon clutchs or contrast a sober look with a bright mini bag.

- Cinturón neón: qué mejor que romper con la estetica de un vestido o trench monocolor con un cinturón, skinny eso sí, en tonos brillantes?
- Neon belt: it's the best solution to break the plain appearance of a monocolour dress or trench, please choose it very skinny and in true bright hues!

moda y olé

Veréis, este post seguramente no os va a enamorar porque no voy a hablaros de la tendencia puntera de la temporada, ni de lo que lleva la it girl del momento, pero me apetece compartir con vosotros unas reflexiones y comentarios que nos hemos cruzado entre amigas. Una de ellas se declara enamorada de la colección de bolsos de mano de Mira la Marela, inspirados en el mundo del toro que son espectaculares y el complemento perfecto para un look sobrio, y de ahí a que me haya animado a escribir este post tan español!

Well, I am pretty sure that this post will not touch you because I am not going to tell you about the hottest trend of the season, nor the of-the-moment it girl, but I just wanted to share with you some ideas I have been exchanging by email with friends. One of them declares herself in love of Mira la Marela clutches, clearly inspired in the bullfighting world. They are simply stunning and can be the perfect accessory for a sober ensemble. That's why I fancy writing this post.

Porque no sólo exportamos inspiración en forma de volantes y  lunares, hay muchos otros detalles que si nos fijamos son también muy nuestros, y esta primavera coincidiendo con la explosión de color veo el "fucsia capote" por todas partes! (y eso que yo no soy para nada partidaria de los toros!) ¿Qué os parecen estos vestidos de H&M y ASOS? el 1º me lo he probado y me encantó!

Because we not only export inspiration in form of polka-dots and flounces, there are many other details typical spanish, very us, and this Spring it matchs up with the color explosion, I see "cape fuchsia" everywhere! (though I don't like bullfighting!) What about these colorful dresses of H&M and ASOS? The first one I tried on, and I liked it!

Nuestra infanta Elena se atrevió con este impresionante vestido de Caprile simulando un capote, con chaqueta de luces y recogido goyesco, estaba espectacular y sólo por atreverse a llevarlo se merece un olé! Pero vamos a leer entre líneas este outfit, y quedarnos con la combinación plata + fucsia.

Our infanta Elena dared wear this awesome dress by Caprile, representing a bullfighter cape, with exceptional bolero and Spanish hairstyle, she was spectacular and only because she dared dress like this, she deserves an "olé"! But let's read between the lines, I take the combination silver+fuchsia.



Hablando de chaquetas toreras, me gusta mucho esta de Topshop con cierto brocado, puede ser una buena elección para un estilismo más formal, por encima de un vestido en bodas de entretiempo, también es fácil de combinar una torera con looks más casuals.

By the way, I like very much this bolero of Topshop, with a light brocade, it can be a good choice for formal outfits, over a dress when it's still cool outside, it's also easy to combine with casual looks.

Qué me decís de los mantones que llevan las it, Kate Moss, Elle Macpherson o nuestra princesa. Me encanta cómo queda con unos simples jeans, le da un aire tan personal y sofisticado!

What about our typical flower shawl, as seen on it girl Kate Moss, Elle Macpherson or our princess Letizia. I like it with jeans, it adds a personal and sophisticate vibe!

Y ya para rematar, una flor en el pelo, estilo flamenca es también una muy buena opción para decorar un outfit soso, para alegrar el estilismo y además están muy de moda!

And last, a big flower on the hair, flamenco style, it is also a good option to decorate a bit a flat outfit, to cheer up the whole ensemble and what's more, they're on fashion now!
