summer working days

Aunque estamos en verano, y muchos empezáis a pensar sólo en vacaciones, lo cierto es que la mayoría seguimos trabajando (yo ya de vuelta) y aunque haga calor y sol ahí fuera, estamos muchas horas encerrados en la oficina donde no podemos venir ni en chanclas ni nos apetece llevar el traje gris, por eso, esos días calurosos de verano (de los que no hay muchos en el norte) que nos toca trabajar, qué nos podemos poner para no morirnos de frío en la oficina ni de calor en calle, y siga siendo un decente working look!?

Although it's summer, and many of you are only thinking about holidays, most of us are still working (in my case, I'm back already) and despite the hot and sunny days, we stay many hours shut up in the office where we can't wear flip-flops or our basic grey suit. So, these extremely hot working days, what to wear so as to bear the cold in the office and the heat outside, and our look still is office-suitable!?

Yo recurro a los colores claros, los nude, blancos son un básico en mi día a día, dan sensación de frescor y son muy favorecedores con el bronceado.

I usually turn to light colors, like nude or whites, they're my daily basics, they give a fresh vibe and further, they're very flattering when tanned.

Los pantalones sólo si son finos, anchos, de lino, o capri, que no se peguen en cuanto sales a la calle.

Trousers, only of thin fabric, like linen and wide enough or capri cut so that they don't stick to your legs when walking down the street.

Las blusas de gasa y seda son un imprescindible este verano, con pantalones de traje o faldas con vuelo. Te atreves con la versión militar?

Chiffon and silk blouses are essential this summer, wear them with tailor pants or skirts. Do you like the army-version?

Si tienes que llevar chaqueta por el dress code, o porque el aire acondicionado te mata, opta por blazers de lino o cardigans extra-finos.

If you have to wear a jacket due to company dress-code, or because the air conditioning is freezing, you can go to linen blazers and ultra-light cardigans.

Una buena solución al frío mañanero son los foulares, suaves y extra largos, te viste, te decoran y te sacan de muchos apuros.

A good solution against the morning cold are the scarves, soft and extra long, they dress you up, decorate your look and are very useful for many occassions.

La opción más lady, vestido + blazer, es sustituto al traje del invierno. También el estilo camisero-safari es un acierto seguro!

The lady-like option is the mix dress+blazer, the winter tailor-suit susbstitute. The safari-shirt-dress is a win-win solution!

Mi opción personal, faldas (este verano largas o midi) con blusas o camisetas básicas

My personal choice, skirts (this summer midi or full) with blouses or basic tees.

A tus pies peep toes, salones abiertos por detrás, bailarinas, cuñas de madera (mejor que de esparto), las sandalias con tacones de aguja o con plumas estilo hippie, mejor para el fin de semana.

As for shoes, go for peep-toes, sling-back kitten shoes, ballet flats, wooden-wedges (rathen than raffia), the high-heeled-striped sandals or hippie-feather flats better for the weekends.

wedding alert: tocados

Me encantan los tocados, es lo primero que se me ocurre deciros para justificar este post. Pero no penséis que los he llevado desde siempre, qué va, hace unas pocas semanas fue de hecho la primera vez que me decidí por uno, pero qué uno! Fue grande, sofisticado y atrevido a la vez. Reconozco que cuando lo tuve en mis manos (me lo hice "online") me dio un poco de miedo, pero como tenía tanta ilusión por llevarlo, y porque mi look quedaría desnudo sin él, lo llevé y fue un éxito! Qué os parece?

I love headdresses, it's the first thing I can tell you to introduce this post. But don't think I have been wearing things on the head always, not at all, actually it was only some weeks ago when I first dared with one, but what a piece! It was quite big, sophisticated and risqué at the same time! I have to admit that when I received it (I have it chosen online!) I doubted whether I would dare wear it, but I had been so excited waiting for it and my dress was so simple that I had no other choice. So I did and it was a success! What do you think?

 

Mi tocado de Rita Von, os lo recomiendo!

Porque los tocados han dejado de ser exclusivos para señoras de clase alta, madrinas,  realeza inglesa y eventos de "alto copete", por qué no llevar uno en la siguiente boda del verano, triunfarás seguro.

Because they are not longer exclusive of high class ladies, matrons of honor, British royal family or aristocratic events. Why not wearing one the next wedding? you'll success.

Cuándo: preferiblemente de mañana, pero también super válidos de tarde.
When: preferable during the day, but very valid for evening.

Dónde: bodas, eventos varios como carreras de caballos, o con "black-tie dress code"
Where: weddings, high-class events like horse racings or deluxe parties.

Cómo: con vestidos o conjuntos sencillos, de un color, en contraste o a juego con los accesorios. Si eres petite que sean ascendentes para estilizar la figura!
How: with very simple and plain outfits, it can be in contrast or same color as the rest of accessories. Remember if you are petite, they should be high enough to make you look slim!

Discretos: desde la más sencilla diadema con plumas a una flor pequeña con tul, no arriesgas mucho y te verás más favorecida.
Discreet: from the simple feather hairband to a small tulled-flower, you don't risk too much and you'll find yourself beautiful!

Atrevidos: por qué no? elige un outfit muy sencillo y los tocados grandes, con color y formas originales. Tengo una amiga loca por la chistera! - pero con sentido común...-
Daring: why not? choose a simple outfit and go for big, colorful and original shaped headdresses. I have a friend crazy about the raffia top hat! - with common sense, please-

Sofisticados: elegante y refinada, consigue un look impecable con una minipamela o boina con plumas.
Edge: elegant and prim, you'll get an impeccable look with a mini-broaded hat or delicated beret with feathers.

Clásicos: las flores son quizá lo más clásico, también las bases de rafia y las plumas, conseguirás un estilismo de 10.
Classics: for sure the flowers are the classiest, but also a light raffia base with tulle and feathers, a high class stylism.

Juveniles: no quieres parecer una señora mayor con mantilla? decántate por una banda de rafia en color y pelo suelo, muy juvenil.
Youthful: if you don't want to look like a woman with a spanish mantilla, go straight to a head bandage, made of raffia, in a contrast color and leave your hair loose.

Divertidos: un tocado de tela de colores, con motivos originales, no necesariamente para una evento de etiqueta, te lo pasarás pipa con él.
Funny: a fabric-petal-flower, original shapes and prints, which are not neccessarily used for a dress-up event, you'll have a great time!

Acierto seguro: una base ligera con plumas, una minipamela, un plato con flores y tul son los básicos que  podemos tener de fondo de armario.
Safe choise: a light base with thin feathers, minihat, "plate" with flowers and tulle are the basic everyone must have in our closet.

un tocco di classe italiana

Ya estoy de vuelta, qué penita! con lo bien que estaba yo al sol, buceando en aguas cristalinas y tomando un mojito al atardecer en una terraza de Formentera...pero toca volver, seguir trabajando y también escribiendo, esto sí que lo echaba un poco de menos!

I'm already back, what a pity! it has been a great time, sunbathing everyday, snorkelling in pristine waters, drinking mojito at sunset in a terrace in Formentera...but it's time to come back, keep on working and posting, what I missed a bit!

Mientras estaba en las playas de Formentera rodeada de italianos (yo creo que es el 2º idioma de la isla!) se me ocurrió dedicarles un post, a ellos esta vez, porque también tienen su propio estilo, inconfundible por otra parte y a la vez muy trendy, llevan la moda y las tendencias a la máxima expresión, sin perder el buen gusto (y el culto al cuerpo, por cierto!)

While I was lain down in the Formentera beaches, surrounded by Italians (I even think italian is the 2nd language of the island!) I had the idea to dedicate a post to them, to the italian men, because they also have their own style, unmistakable and very trendy at the same time, they breath fashion and follow the trends brilliantly, with a very good taste (and the cult of body, by the way!)


Me encantan cómo saben llevar las americanas con camisas blancas impecables, cuidando el detalle del puño.
I like how they know how to wear the blazers with white shirts, always impeccable, taking care of the right position of the cuffs.

Me encanta que los finos cardigans no sean sólo de chica, ojo que los llevan de manga corta para un estilo casual!
I like that thin cardigans are not only for women, pay attention that they wear short sleeve one for a casual outfit!

Me encanta cómo lucen los pantalones semi-capris con traje, dejando ver los calcetines magistralmente combinados.
I like how they look so good with semi-capri suit pants, leaving visible brilliantly combined socks.

Me encantan los chicos con pantalones blancos con estilo (sin ser vulgar) y combinados con blazers de tonos azules, muy mediterraneos!
I like men with white pants, but with a touch of style please, combining them with blue hue blazers, very mediterranean!

Me encantan cómo saben echarle imaginación al día a día con pantalones de colores, y accesorios de piel (cómo me gusta la forma de llevar el messenger bag!)
I like how they are experts at wearing effortless color pants, jeans with leather accessories (that's the way to carry the messenger bag!)

Me encanta cómo lucen el look más casual con ese aire chic, tan particular que les hace irresistibles.
I like how they look so good casual with their own chic vib, so stylish that make them irresistible.

Me encanta los foulares para hombres, en Formentera los llevaban todos en la moto, pero la opción más formal también me parece sensacional, sin olvidar el pañuelo colorido que tan bien completa el look.
I like the foulards for men too, in Formentera everybody wore it when driving a moto, but the more elevated option is also sensational, without forgetting the print square pocket that completes the look.

Me encantan cómo se atreven con las gafas, las formas y los tamaños. No hay italiano que se precie sin unas buenas gafas de sol.
I like how they dare wearing sunglasses, every model and size (preferable big ones). There's no Italian without nice sunglasses.

Y ahora también me encantan los bañadores tipo boxer (que antes odiaba) pero que tan bien saben lucir por las playas del mediterraneo...;)
And now I also like the boxer type bathing suits, (I hated them before) but they look so cool with them in the mediterranean beaches... ;)

La verdad es que me lo estoy pasando pipa buscando inspiración masculina, creo que debería abrir una mini sección ;)
To be honest, I've enjoyed a lot when searching masculin inspiration, I think I'll should write about it more often ;)
